Remember when you were young and everybody that was over 30 was old? You may have been one of those people that cavalierly said I'll never grow old I know I'm going to die young.
Well the fact is if you keep getting up in the morning long enough one of those mornings you're going to realize your old! In 1901 the average life expectancy was only 49 years of age.
Today is around 78 years.
So somewhere from the beginning of last century to now we were given an extra 30 years.
Another funny thing about age is that when you're young you never want to get old, but when you're old do I keep getting older! Crazy right? In a 2005 study by the Pew Institute found that 43% of people over the age of 55 desired to reach the age of 100.
The same people indicated that the most important factor was not the length of life but the quality of life.
The good news is that most experts on aging believe that our genetics are only responsible for about 1/5 of our longevity.
The other 4/5 are made up of the actual lifestyle choices that we make.
So for those of us that are passing the 50 mark it is very important to take exercise and nutrition very seriously every day.
It is a proven fact that looking better will help you feel better.
It's true, if you feel good about the way you look it will help you develop a positive outlook, which in turn builds upon itself in every other aspect of your life.

" This simply means that the healthiest way to lose weight and to keep that weight off is to take in less calories than you burn off.
If more people realized this the multi-million-dollar diet business would go bust! No matter what type of diet or nutritional supplement that is being offered as the latest greatest fat burning sensation, the truth of the matter is all these products are trying to suppress your appetite so that you will take and less calories than you burn off in the course of the day.
As of this writing it is estimated that over 65% of all adults are either overweight or even obese.
Obesity is associated with a whole plethora of medical conditions and none of them are very good.
These include arthritis, some cancers, diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure just to pick a few off the things that can kill you hit parade.
Before anything can change in the physical world there has to be a change in the mind.
