How to Make Your Own Talk Box
- 1). Place the open end of the plastic bowl over the speaker. Hold the bowl in place and make sure the rims of the bowl and speaker are aligned. Tape the two rims together with duct tape.
- 2). Drill a hole a little smaller than the size of the tubing in the center of the bowl. Slip one end of the tube into the hole and seal the tube in place with duct tape, making sure the tube is tight and secure but not collapsed.
- 3). Plug the musical instrument into the A/B switch. Plug the switch's A port into the amplifier. Turn them on.
- 4). Tape foam sheets around the speaker and bowl. This will dampen the sound not coming from the tube. Plug the B port of the switch into the speaker and turn it on.
- 5). Place the loose end of the tube in your mouth and mouth words into a microphone. Do not make sound, but move your mouth as if you were making sounds. This may take a few tries to get right. Play the musical instrument as you mouth words. This will modulate the sound in your mouth and make the instrument sound like it's talking.
