Application in USA

• 1). Download the application for an international driving permit from the American Automobile Association at www.aaa.com (see link in Resources for PDF).
  
  
• 2). Complete the application and be sure to check the box, "International Driving Permit" for desired permit. Sign your name on the back of each of two passport-size photos.
  
  
• 3). Visit your nearest AAA branch accepting these applications or follow the instructions to mail the application. When applying in person, be sure that you have two, signed passport-size photos, driver's license, AAA membership card (if applicable) and fee. When applying by mail, be sure to include two, signed passport-size photos, a copy of the front and back of your driver's license and check for the fee.
  
  

Application in India

• 1). Download, print out and complete the Medical 1A form from the Delhi Government Transport Department: transport.delhigovt.nic.in/License/license6.html.
  
  
• 2). Locate a zonal office (see Resource for directory link). Prepare five passport-size photos, authenticated (notarized) copies of your address and birth certificate, along with your valid driver's license, passport, visa and completed original Medical 1A form.
  
  
• 3). Visit the zonal office between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. local time to submit your documents and fees.
