How to Upload Images to a Web Server
- 1). Access your FTP account. You can access your web server FTP account by logging into your web server's Cpanel account and selecting "FTP"; or by using an FTP client like Filezilla or gFTP. You'll need the username and password as supplied to you by your server provider.
- 2). Select the images you want to upload. On one side of the screen you will see a directory of the files on your computer. You can select multiple files by holding down the "CTRL" key and clicking on more than one file (use the "Apple" key on a Mac).
- 3). Transfer the files to the web server. On the other side of the screen you will see a directory of the files and folders that are a part of your web server account. Hit "Upload" or the on-screen arrow key to transfer the image files from your computer to the web server directory.
- 4). Access the image files. You can now access the files by typing in the web address of where you uploaded them. For example, if you uploaded the files to a folder called "pics", you would have to type the web address with /pics/nameofupload.jpg following it into your web browser window.
