Runner Gratitude - Race Expo Vendors

Are you annoyed by retailers and salespeople? Perhaps you have had bad experiences with several pushy or overbearing salespeople, or maybe you feel inundated by advertisements from retailers.
Suppose that you are not annoyed by retailers and salespeople because you tell yourself that they have "a job to do" when you think of them.
So you simply take them for granted.
There are at least two problems here.
  1. You are lumping all retailers and salespeople into a stereotypical image in your mind.
  2. You are ignoring the benefits that they provide to you.
Race expo vendors may fall victim to your annoyance or apathy.
But you can get a lot of support for your running from race expo vendors.
  • They sell shoes, socks, and other apparel that you may have forgotten in your rush to travel to your race destination.
  • They sell sunglasses to replace the ones that you broke or lost within days before your race.
  • They demonstrate products and services to make your running more efficient and less injury-prone.
  • They present injury-recovery aids.
  • They show gadgets and devices that you have only read about in Runner's World, in other magazines, or online -- long before those products appear at your local specialty store.
  • They answer your questions about products or services, and, for the ones that they cannot answer, they take your name and email address to send you answers after the expo.
To get that support, you have to be tuned in to the good in these vendors.
In other words, you have to activate the Law of Attraction in your favor when it comes to race expo vendors.
And a simple way to do this is by regularly reading statements of gratitude for them and dwelling on the good feelings that you associate with those statements.
Given that you may now be in an apathy, if not antipathy, mode when it comes to race expo vendors, here are some statements to get you started.
  • I am truly grateful for the many vendors who show up at my race expos to sell me products and services that support my running.
  • I love seeing the latest gadgets and devices on display by my race expo vendors.
  • I am thankful to anyone in a vendor's booth who can answer questions that I have not gotten answered anywhere else.
Of course, this list could be much longer.
So personalize this list with your own additions and edits.
Then daily or weekly read each item on the list, and feel good about what you are reading, to leverage the Law of Attraction to your benefit as a runner!
