Microlight Flight Schools

    • Microlights provide a relatively inexpensive way to take to the skies.ultralight view image by brelsbil from Fotolia.com

Microlight flying, or ultralight flying as it is known in the United States, became popular in the 1980s, as aviation enthusiasts sought inexpensive ways to take to the skies. The Federal Aviation Authority's definition of an ultralight significantly differed from that of most other countries, until in 2004 they introduced the classification of light-sport aircraft, which is similar to the definition of microlight and ultralight in other countries. The United States Ultralight Association website provides a list of schools throughout the nation.
