The Kiss That Shook the World

What can make a kiss so sensational, that it is still talked about and discussed generations later, and even heatedly debated a couple thousand of years later? It makes you wonder, that must have been some kiss! and it really was.
The kiss in question was between Jesus and his now infamous disciple Judas Iscariot, whom as you may recall, signaled to the Roman Soldiers, whom Jesus was, by kissing Jesus on the cheek; in the Garden of Gethsemane.
This single act, so innocent in and of itself, has proven to be one of the most remembered and controversial kisses in all written human history, ever! and it involved two men at that; but before you draw any conclusions, it involved much more important and deeper issues of ethics and principles that anyone can relate to.
It was a kiss to remember, simply because this kiss signified and involved issues of betrayal, love and trust between men that bonded as companions and fraternal brothers, and shock, that someone so close to you, could somehow become your own undoing.
One of the other disciples of Jesus, reacted to this stunning sign of betrayal, by promptly slashing off the ear of one of the Roman soldiers in anger.
Jesus, being ever benevolent, even at this critical moment as he was being falsely arrested, saw fit to perform a miracle, by simply reattaching the man's ear in that instant.
That kiss from Judas, planted on Jesus' cheek at any other time, but this very moment, would certainly have been a welcome sign or greeting between close friends, as Jesus and his disciples had been known to become very close, travelling everywhere together; and sharing everything together.
However, this particular kiss from Judas, at this particular moment in time, was a kiss that was cold and calculating, and filled with ulterior motives that must have made Jesus' heart fill with sorrow, because he knew full well, of his demise to come, and he must have felt its burden weigh upon his mind heavily; just at the moment as Judas' lips were leaving his cheek.
Yes, the most famous kiss in the world, wasn't even between a man and a woman, it was between two men, and no, it wasn't gay! but it was a kiss nonetheless; and it was the kiss that most everyone has heard about, and has some opinion or another about it.
Some say a kiss is just a kiss, but in this case, it was more than that, it was "The" pivotal kiss, that led to betrayal, crucifixion, and eventually, redemption; of which we can all be thankful for.
For without redemption, we would not have a way of forgiveness from sins.
Kiss someone you love today, and really mean it, for it may be the last kiss you share, or tell someone you love them, and really mean it from the heart, for pivotal and life changing moments, can happen at a moment's notice, without you even recognizing it.
