Baby boomers in the United States were born between the years of 1946 and 1964 -- beginning with the return of U.S. troops from World War II and ending with the adoption of the birth control pill by many American women. Today, some baby boomers work and some of them are retired, but as a group they tend to be more active than previous generations were at their age. - Portland, Oregon, is a livable, culture-rich and environmentally friendly city.
