To Hire Or Not to Hire Moving Vans?

Picture this scenario: You've had a rough day.
You're trying to get your paperwork together, your new puppy to stop chewing on everything (yourself included), your kids to calm down, explaining to your kids that attempting to duct tape themselves to the toilet won't make you change your mind about moving, and all of the usual moving things.
However, you may be wondering-when do you need to hire a moving van? After all, you do have a lot going on...
so how DO you know? If you have kids, don't have a large vehicle, are sick, elderly, disabled, have limited mobility, or just plain don't have the resources to move by yourself, you need to hire movers.
It's not laziness or anything of that nature-it's a genuine need.
Before you decide that you are going to hire movers, however, you need to start budgeting for it.
But how exactly do you go about hiring movers? Well, first of all, you need to find a few companies and take a few hours examining each one.
You also need to make sure that you check into the company a few months before you actually move.
This makes it easier for them and easier for you.
If you can get a quote from a company-great! However, some quotes are a bit...
generalized.
If you need something a little bit more personalized, then you want to look for a company that features a price list.
Once you have this, you need to start looking at your bills and where each of your paychecks goes each month.
Do you have a car note? Is your car note going to be paid off right in time for you to move? If that's so, then there's a whole bunch of extra pounds right there! You also might want to cut out any extra luxuries when trying to hire a moving van.
However, make sure that you CAN cut them out.
In a stressful time such as when you are moving, it probably wouldn't be the best idea to quit smoking, for example.
Or, if you used bubbles for your stress reliever, you wouldn't want to cut that out either.
However, if you usually go out to eat each Friday night, you could order something less expensive or just cut it completely out.
When you budget, look not only at the most you can get away with, but also the least.
Some companies charge by hour-one man may take four to do a job that three would have completed in one.
Sure, it might be a little extra to hire them, but in the end it saves you money~ You also need to know what you want from your company.
If you have limited packing skills, then it would probably be a good idea to go ahead and find a moving van company that packs for you.
If you are a teeny tiny little woman or man who doesn't work out much and can barely open their own soda pop, you will want to find movers who carry everything in and out.
And finally, good luck moving! Moving vans are there to get rid of most of your stress!
