How to Connect Two Ethernet Cords Together

    • 1). Plan a path for your Ethernet cables through your home or office and determine how many---and what length---cables you need to use, as well as how many RJ45 connectors you need. For each pair of cable ends that you want to connect, you will need one RJ45 connector.

    • 2). Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the RJ45 connector until you hear it snap into place. Lightly tug on the cable to ensure that it snapped fully into place.

    • 3). Plug one end of the second Ethernet cable into the other side of the RJ45 connector until you hear it snap into place. Lightly tug on each end of the Ethernet cables to ensure they have both fully snapped into place. Incorporate a new RJ45 connector for each subsequent cable you need to connect.
