What Does the Sweden Flag Represent?

    • The flag of Sweden is blue with a yellow cross. Most Scandinavian countries feature a cross on their flags.

    • The design of the Swedish flag goes back to the 16th century. It was officially readopted by Sweden in 1906.

    • Sweden's annual Flag Day falls on June 6. The reign of King Gustav I Vasa began on that date back in 1523.
