How to Feed Birds Bread Crumbs
- 1). Read a bird guide to determine what types of birds are in your yard and whether or not they like bread. A bird guide for your local area is best, as it will contain only birds in your region, which in turn makes it easier for you to narrow down which bird species habituate your yard.
- 2). Tear the bread into ½-inch chunks and put it into a bowl. The amount of bread needed depends on the amount of birds in your area. Bread should not make up the entire diet for the birds, so use no more than one slice of bread for every 10 birds.
- 3). Scatter the bread throughout your property.
- 4). Repeat the process every other day.
