Man Boobs - 2 Dreaded Words to All Men
Are the words "man boobs" 2 of the most dreadful words for any modern man? Most likely, yes.
It is a sorry state of affairs when a man has to consider being fitted for a man bra, or his boobs are bigger than his wife or girlfriend's.
But like it or not, man boobs are a part of modern men's life.
An embarrassing part, but here to stay, unfortunately.
That doesn't mean all men who have them, have to put up with them for life.
Men who have them just need to commit to taking action today, and stick with what ever they choose until they have rid themselves of their man boobs.
Not all men with man boobs have the same condition.
Some have gynecomastia, whilst most have pseudo-gynecomastia.
The exact cause of gynecomastia is unknown, though most experts consider it to be the result of a hormonal imbalance.
Sometimes it's the result of medication, so a visit to the doctor will clear this up.
Pseudo-gynecomastia is what most men with man boobs have.
And, thankfully, it is the most straight forward to deal with.
It's most commonly found in men who are also overweight or obese.
In other words, fat has built up over the pectoral muscles, making your chest area look like you have breasts.
So, ultimately, in this case, man boobs are the result of being overweight.
So, I can almost hear you say, "what can I do about my man boobs? Should I see a plastic surgeon?" No, you don't need to run off to your local cosmetic surgeon, yet.
With simple changes to your lifestyle you should, in time, see an improvement in your chest.
So, what are these simple changes? Easy.
They're the normal combination of a healthy diet plus regular exercise that are often touted by experts.
Not so easy to put into effect, though.
Start by trying to cut junk (or fast) food from your diet.
Then try to increase the amount of veggies you eat, while at the same time attempting to substitute other sources of protein (fish, chicken, legumes, etc.
) for red meat.
Another thing to consider is your alcohol intake.
Aim to reduce the amount you drink, as most alcohol is empty calories.
At the same time as attempting to eat healthier, start trying to do a moderate amount of exercise each week.
Say 30 minutes 3 times a week.
If you've tried doing this in the past, but found it difficult, try to find an exercise you enjoy doing.
Experts advise trying to switch between different types of exercise.
For instance, cardio one day, then weight training the next session.
Then aim to build up gradually.
Of course, the sensible thing to do would be to check with your doctor before starting any new exercise program.
