- 1). Place the metal piece of a roll of measuring tape at the edge of the tile. Extend the roll of measuring tape and record the length of the tile.
- 2). Place the metal piece of a roll of measuring tape at an adjacent edge of the tile. Extend the roll of measuring tape and record the width of the tile.
- 3). Cut the proper dimension of polyethylene sheet for the tile with a knife or scissors. Verify these dimensions with a measuring tape.
- 4). Clean the tile with standard cleaning solution to remove any dirt or other obstructions. Make the surface smooth and free of obstructions.
- 5). Dry the tile with a cloth.
- 6). Apply a layer of sealant around all edges of the bottom of the polyethylene sheet. Place this sealant approximately 3/4 of an inch from the edge of the sheet. Lay the sheet down on the smooth and clean tile surface.
- 7). Flatten the polyethylene sheet flush on top of the tile, using a hand roller. Allow the sealant to dry for approximately two hours.
