How to Program a Liftmaster Garage Door
- 1). Place a stepladder under the Liftmaster garage door opener motor head, so you can reach the back of the opener.
- 2). Remove the lens cover off the back of the opener head if your unit uses lights on the front and back. Grasp the cover with your thumb under the cover and fingers over the top of the cover. Squeeze the lens cover to unlock it from the tabs and remove it from the opener.
- 3). Locate the "learn" button on the upper right-hand corner of the rear of the opener head. There is a small LED next to the button.
- 4). Press and release the "learn" button with your finger. The LED illuminates indicating the opener is ready for programming. Press and hold the push button on your remote control until the light blinks on the front of the opener. The opener is now programmed for the remote.
- 5). Press and release the "learn" button again until the LED illuminates. Go to the keypad and enter a four digit code and the "enter" button. The light on the front of the opener will blink on and off indicating the keypad is now programmed to the door opener.
- 6). Place the lens cover back onto the rear of the door opener head.
