How to Make a Sidekick Work With Boost Mobile SIM
- 1). Remove the battery from the back of your Sidekick. Look for the compliance sticker, located inside of the battery compartment. Write down the numbers next to "IMEI." Replace the battery and power on the phone by pressing the "Power" button.
- 2). Call T-Mobile customer service by dialing "611" to request your Sidekick unlock code. To obtain the code, give the agent the IMEI number that you wrote down. Write down the unlock code when the agent gives it to you.
- 3). Buy the unlock code from an online code provider, should T-Mobile not be able to give you the code. Online providers include GSM Liberty, Cellfservices and Unlock to Talk. Compare prices before making a final purchase.
- 4). Power off the phone by pressing the "Power" button. Remove the battery from the back of the phone. Swap the existing SIM card for the Boost Mobile SIM card, then replace the battery.
- 5). Power on the phone and enter the unlock code when prompted. Your Sidekick boots to the home screen.
