How to Make Insect Repellent From Pyrethrum Daisies

    • 1). Pour a cup of distilled water into the plastic spray bottle with the 1 tbsp. vegetable glycerin. Vegetable glycerin is 100 percent natural and can be found in craft and hobby supply shops or online. It holds essential oils well without drying the skin when it is applied.

    • 2). Add 20 drops of citronella essential oil to the bottle of water and glycerin. Citronella is a well known, natural insect repellent. It will help complement the daisy essence while improving the scent.

    • 3). Add the Pyrethrum daisy essence, which is a thin, yellowish green oleoresin found in perfumery crafting stores or online. This powerful essence harnesses the power of Pyrethrum daisies.

    • 4). Secure the lid on the bottle and shake it vigorously for one minute, dispersing the ingredients within the solution. The repellent can be applied to skin immediately.
