How to Decorate a Little Mermaid Themed Bathroom

    • 1). Paint the bathroom aqua blue or sea foam green to create an under-the-sea background or paint an entire mural on the wall. Use a scene from the movie for inspiration, such as when Ariel is exploring a sunken ship with Flounder and Sebastian. Alternatively, use peel-and-stick decals to create the mural if you want something less permanent. A simple "Little Mermaid" wall border will set the tone without a busy mural if you want something less obtrusive.

    • 2). Hang a shower curtain with images of Ariel and her friends from hooks that feature Flounder, Sebastian or simple seashells. Use a plain blue or white shower curtain if you have a busy mural painted on the walls.

    • 3). Display plain white towels against a busy mural background or use towels with images of Ariel and her friends against plain white or blue walls. If your child favors a character besides Ariel, use a towel with images of that character.

    • 4). Place a rug in front of the tub and toilet that ties in with the "Little Mermaid" theme. General sea-themed rugs, such as seashells or fish, will work as well.

    • 5). Hang pictures or artwork of your child's favorite scenes from the movie if the walls are plain. For example, include an image of Ariel under the sea and another of her on land with Prince Eric.

    • 6). Accessorize the bathroom with "Little Mermaid" bath accessories, such as a garbage can, toothbrush holder, tumbler and lotion dispenser. Use a themed bath mat or seashell-shaped mats to prevent slips in the tub.
