How to Install Polycarbonate on a Greenhouse End Wall
- 1). Dig a 4- to 6-inch trench just outside the greenhouse wall, using the shovel.
- 2). Peel off the protective backing from the polycarbonate, if applicable. Insert the piece of polycarbonate into the bottom of the trench and push it up against the metal or wooden structural supports of the greenhouse. Line it up so one of the raised ridges on the sheet fits over one of the vertical side poles.
- 3). Insert a C-shaped, no-drip spacer under the polycarbonate edge with the arced side facing upward and the ends of the spacer resting on the support post.
- 4). Insert a 1/4-inch drill bit into the drill and create a hole in the polycarbonate that corresponds to the underlying spacer.
- 5). Insert a 1 1/2-inch screw and a neoprene washer into the hole and secure firmly with the screwdriver. Do not over-tighten the screw.
- 6). Repeat the process of installing C-shaped spacers and screws every 12 to 24 inches up the vertical post. Secure the sheet on the opposite post in the same manner.
- 7). Place the removed dirt back into the trench and stomp on it to pack it down as tightly as possible.
