Texture Ceiling Crack Repair

    • 1). Move any furniture that is beneath the crack. Place an old sheet or plastic covering over the floor or carpet below the crack.

    • 2). Climb a ladder and scrape away the loose texture from the ceiling along the crack to reveal the drywall underneath. Use a putty knife. Using a rag, wipe off any remaining dust from the spot.

    • 3). Place a cartridge of latex caulk into a caulking gun. Squeeze a bead of caulk along the crack. Moisten your finger with warm water, and neatly smooth the caulk out with your finger. Allow the caulk to dry.

    • 4). Wipe the repaired area clean of dust. Apply a coat of latex primer on the repaired area.

    • 5). Hold or tape a small box on the ceiling around the repaired area. Hold a can of aerosol ceiling texture spray about 9 to 14 inches from the ceiling, or at a distance according to the manufacturer's instructions. Using a sweeping motion, spray the texture onto the repaired area.
