Pour 1 tablespoon table salt into your coffee pot. Add enough ice cubes to fill the pot three-quarters of the way, then pour 1/2 cup white vinegar in the pot. - 2). Swirl the three ingredients around in your coffee pot for a few minutes. The mixture loosens coffee stains and mineral deposits stuck inside your coffee pot. Allow the solution to sit in your coffee pot for five minutes.
- 3). Pour the ice cubes, salt and vinegar out of your coffee pot. Rinse with plain water.
- 4). Fill your coffee pot with warm water and a few drops of dishwashing detergent. Wash the inside of your coffee pot with a sponge and the soapy solution to remove any salt or vinegar residue and remaining stains. Rinse with plain water then dry with a clean kitchen towel.
