- 1). Set up your flash on a stand in the position you want to use it in.
- 2). Turn on the flash.
- 3). Press the Zoom and "i" button together to enter CSM mode, which allows you to adjust your flash's settings.
- 4). Scroll through the menu using the plus or minus buttons until you see a Z-shaped arrow with squiggles.
- 5). Press Mode on the Z-shaped menu to turn on wireless communication between your flash and your camera.
- 6). Press Zoom and "-" again to exit the CSM menu.
- 7). Confirm that it says Channel 3 and A on the back of your camera, which is the default communication channel. If it doesn't say this, press Mode and then "-" to scroll through until you get to these channels.
- 8). See your camera's specific manual to find instructions for setting the camera to Commander Mode, which allows it to trigger the flash.
- 9). Shoot as your normally would, allowing the TTL metering to choose the flash's power level.
