How to Eat a Kiwano Melon

    • 1). Place the kiwano melon on a cutting board.

    • 2). Stand the kiwano upright and place a knife on the center top portion of the fruit. Press the knife down to divide the fruit in half.

    • 3). Scrape the green, seed-laden flesh from the shell with a fork. Use a swift brushing motion. The seeds are edible.

    • 4). Eat the flesh with a spoon, or combine it with fresh sliced strawberries, mangoes, blueberries and papaya to make a fruit salad. Another option is to make a cocktail by muddling kiwano flesh with mint leaves and adding gin, champagne and lemon juice.
