2012 Halloween Events in Indianapolis
It's cooler outside and it's getting darker earlier in the evening. Pumpkins are crowding porches and the leaves are falling. Halloween is approaching and with it comes many fun and exciting events. Whether you're looking for something child-friendly or want to be completely terrified, this list includes something for you.
For a fun, action-packed take on Halloween, consider attacking zombies with paintball guns! This interactive hayrides, takes guests into the town of Eatin, taken over by zombies. Shot as many as possible before they destroy you! The hayride is $15 per person. Other activities include a shooting range for $7.50 (25 shots).

Hanna Haunted Acres is sure to give you goosebumps with six fright-filled attractions. Hanna Haunted Acres includes three differently themed haunted houses, a six-acre haunted corn maze, a haunted hayride and a completely blacked out haunted house. The kid-friendly exhibit takes visitors through a wild factory where Winny the Witch and her Witchkins will be working hard for Halloween. Tour the haunted factory where hats and brooms, Jack-O-Lanterns and Halloween candy area are created. Lights on hours are offered for young children. Take a hayride through haunted Conner Prairie but keep your eyes out for the Headless Horseman! Along the way, encounter a whole array of historic and Victorian Gothic literature characters such as Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Edgar Allan Poe. This annual progressive mystery takes the audience through the many rooms of the three-story 1865 house. Tickets are $15 per person; $10 per members of Indiana Landmarks.

Listen to ghost stories on the grounds of Crown Hill Cemetery. The cemetery is a national historic site and the burial spot for many famous political, literature, the arts and sports. Among those are poet James Whitcomb Riley, Benjamin Harrison and Eli Lilly. Bring a picnic, blankets, lawn chairs and a flashlight and spend the evening listening to frightening tales. The stories will begin with child-friendly tales and advance to scarier stories.

As the name suggests, the concert features music from The Phantom of the Opera as many familiar TV & movie themes. Professional organist Charles Manning is "The Phantom" and "Phantom Vocalists" include talented performers, Brooke Fitzwater and Eric Wickens. The concert is held int he historic Gothic Chapel located on the grounds of Crown Hill Cemetery. Refreshments are included in the concert and a guided walking tour of the cemetery concludes the evening.
The "Skeletons in the Closet, Part I" walking tour is guided by Crown Hill's expert, Tom Davis. The tour includes visits to many graves and secrets will be revealed. Please note this is not a creepy ghost tour, but a factual tour. The tour lasts about an hour and flashlights and warm clothing are strongly encouraged. Tickets range in price from $15 - $20 and always sell out.
