Quitting Smoking During Pregnancy

Quitting smoking during pregnancy can be a tough thing to do.
If you've ever tried quitting smoking during pregnancy, then you know how extremely challenging it can be.
For one you're dealing with so much stress of the baby and being pregnant, that you can of lose yourself in the process.
Because of it, you want to reach for a cigarette.
But you should know that doing too much smoking during pregnancy can really affect your baby's health.
You shouldn't smoke at all during pregnancy due to the fact that you're putting your baby's life and future at risk also.
So if you're currently smoking, quitting smoking during pregnancy is a good idea.
I know you may still have the urges and cravings to smoke but there are things that you can do stop these cravings.
One of the best things that you can do is to write down on a sheet of paper when you usually go to smoke.
This will serve as your "stop smoking schedule".
If you know you want to take a smoke during any one of these times, it's time to replace this activity with something else.
For example, instead of smoking, you can go and meditate.
Especially if you're pregnant, this can be a very relaxing thing for you to do.
Meditating during pregnancy promotes health and well being, and calms and relaxes your nerves.
Try doing it sometime instead of smoking, it will really prove to help you out.
Another helpful practice to take up while pregnant is Yoga.
Yoga is known to relax the body and mind and to help elevate your mood.
Yoga isn't exactly synonymous with smoking but it can really help when it comes to balancing your senses.
If Yoga isn't your thing, consider taking up an alternative exercise such as Pilates.
Quitting smoking during pregnancy is a must if you want to maintain the health of you and your baby.
If you're a regular smoker and you just recently got pregnant, don't expect to quit smoking cold turkey.
It will take some time but this is a process that you will want to do to ensure the health of your baby.

If you're stuck on the fixation that you need something in your mouth to hold, and a cigarette used to be that placeholder, simply swap it out for something else.
For example, I used a kit-kat bar to replace the feeling of having a cigarette in my mouth.
I love kit-kat bars - I can't get enough of them.
And I love the way that it feels inside of my mouth.
The chocolaty feeling replaces the feeling of nicotine for me and it just does wonders for me.
You should consider finding something to replace a cigarette also if you want to have success with quitting smoking.
Quitting smoking during pregnancy is a necessity if you want to have a healthy baby.
