Philly Chicken Wings Recipe

These chicken wings are lightly fried before they go on the grill. This helps give them a crunchy surface. You can step up the heat by adding more red pepper flakes or cayenne to the basting sauce.

Buffalo Wings

Ingredients
  • 3 pound/1.3 kg chicken wings
  • 2 heads garlic cloves, roasted
  • 1 cup/240 mL dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons/30 mL flour
  • 2 tablespoons/30 mL butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons/30 mL olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons/10 mL red pepper flakes (more to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons/10 mL fresh basil, shredded
  • salt and pepper to taste

  • Cook Time: 10 minutes


  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: Serves 4 to 6


Preparation
Lightly dust chicken wings with flour. Sauté garlic cloves in olive oil until just starting to brown. Add salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Reduce heat to low and add chicken wings. Lightly brown wings, remove and set aside. Add wine and butter to sauté pan. Stir until it starts to thicken. Add herbs, mix and remove from heat. Preheat grill. Place wings on grill and cook for about 10 minute or until done. Brush periodically with sauce.
