    Vodafone

    • Vodafone is the longest-running mobile network provider in the United Kingdom, and operates various networks in over thirty countries throughout the world. Vodafone Group plc has somewhere in the region of 332 million subscribers throughout the world.They have firmly established and tested telecommunications equipment, which has helped to make them market leaders in the UK, and they have been voted as having the best service and reliability in a survey conducted by ZDNet UK.

    O2

    • O2, previously known as BT Cellnet, is part of Telefonica Europe, a Spanish telecommunications company. O2 has been traditionally been regarded as a quality network provider in the UK because of its management by British Telecom. After the takeover by Telefonica in 2005 and increased investment, O2 re-launched its brand identity resulting in a growth in subscribers. O2 have also sponsored a number of music venues which offer O2 customers priority tickets around the UK in an attempt to attract more customers. O2 was the first UK mobile network to offer the iPhone and, according to a survey conducted by Pocket-Lint, are regarded as having the best selection of mobile phones available through their network.

    Orange and T-Mobile

    • Orange UK is owned by France Telecom and has recently merged with a leading UK mobile network T-Mobile. Previously a mobile phone network market leader in the UK, Orange UK has received bad reviews of its network coverage in recent years. However, this merger will give them access to all of T-Mobile's mobile phone base stations and vice versa, which should dramatically improve coverage for both networks. T-Mobile is known for its excellent technical support, and is the only UK mobile network to offer instant messaging technical support.

    • 3 is the brand name for a network operated in the UK by Hutchinson Whampoa. 3 is a relatively new UK mobile network provider, launched in 2003. The success of 3 relied heavily on its ability to quickly provide a reliable 3G network throughout the UK. 3 built a network infrastructure faster than any other telecommunications company in the UK had done before. According to the UK Mobile Coverage website, by the beginning of 2011, 3 had achieved 99 percent 2G network coverage and 93 percent 3G network coverage throughout the UK. 3 boast the one of the highest levels of 3G coverage in the UK, so is ideally suited for video calls and mobile internet.
