How to Clink Glasses at a Wedding
- 1). Wait for a moment that is appropriate for the bride and groom to kiss each other. You don't want to start clinking glasses when a speech is being given or another activity is under way. During dinner is an ideal time.
- 2). Pick up a kitchen utensil that has a flat edge to it. A knife is ideal. Metal utensils work best in providing a clear sound.
- 3). Strike the side of a glass gently with the kitchen utensil. If you strike it too hard, the glass will break. A small tap is all that is needed to generate a sound. Glasses with different amounts of liquid in them will produce different tones.
- 4). Continue tapping the glass until others join in and the bride and groom kiss each other.
