Sacramento Holiday Temperatures

Oh the weather outside is frightful – or is it? During the Christmas season, Sacramento temperatures tend to be pretty agreeable compared to other parts of the nation. The same goes for Easter and summer break, as we tend to be a fairly temperate climate here in Northern California. If you’re planning a visit to Sacramento, or are a local looking for the best month to hold that special wedding or family reunion – you’re in luck.

Every month is a reasonable month when it comes to weather.

Right on the border of Northern and Central California, Sacramento is rather wishy washy when it comes to the whole concept of having four distinct seasons. It rarely snows, and summers are quite warm. This is a popular place to live in California due to the close proximity to the seasons we miss. Lake Tahoe, with its countless ski resorts and almost guaranteed white Christmas each year, is less than two hours away. In the other direction, San Francisco with its gorgeous foggy mornings, is an even shorter drive. Here in the actual city of Sacramento, rain and high winds bring some wintery action, while our summers are consistent pool party weather.

Here are some common holidays with a historical average of the temperature here in Sacramento. While no weather prediction is perfect, you can expect the climate to be within this range during the specific time of year. Still nervous about what the skies have planned? KCRA, our local NBC affiliate, has up to the date online weather including storm alerts.
