1. Most lotto retailers could print out info for the entire series of instant scratch-off games that are available for sale.
   These printouts show how long the game has been running and how many of the top prizes have been claimed.
   Ask for the printout and study it.
   Try to find games that have been running for a while but still have a lot of big prizes left to be claimed.
   If you could spot one with a lot of top prizes remaining, buy that game as the odds of winning will be better.
   
2. If you're at the store and see someone buy some instant scratch-off tickets and then scratch them in the store, pay attention.
   If you see that the tickets that were bought were losers, buy the same ticket.
   This is a good strategy because there are only a set number of winning tickets in a series and the more losers you take out of the series, the more winning tickets that will be left.
   
3. Buy higher priced scratch-off tickets.
   Generally, the higher priced tickets have better odds of winning.
   That's the trade-off that you get - You spend more money to get better odds (Although, sometimes the odds are the same but the prizes are bigger).
   You can usually check the lottery's website to confirm this as, most of the time, they will list the odds of all lotto games available to play.
   

Of course, as I've already mentioned, anything that you could do to increase your odds in the lottery does not guarantee that you will actually win.
There is no way to guarantee a win - You're just trying to increase your odds a little.
So it is smart to never spend more on lotto tickets than you could afford to lose.
