How to Tile Around a Jacuzzi Bathtub With a Shower
- 1). Draw a vertical line through the middle of one wall above the Jacuzzi. Use your notched trowel to spread thinset mortar along the bottom of the wall, just above the rim of the Jacuzzi.
- 2). Set the bottom row of tiles in place in the mortar, starting at the center line and working out toward the edges. The nubs on the sides of the tiles will space them properly from each other, and from the tub rim. Cut the tiles at the ends as needed, on a tile saw.
- 3). Spread more mortar above the bottom row and hang the rest of the rows, starting each one from the middle and gradually building out and up. Cut tiles to fit around the shower head and any other wall fixtures, using your tile saw. Tile the whole wall. Repeat for each wall.
- 4). Let the mortar set for a day. Grout the tiles, pressing the grout into the spaces between them with your grout float and wiping up the excess with a dampened sponge. Don't tile the line between the bottom row of tiles and the Jacuzzi rim.
- 5). Let the grout set for a day. Caulk the space the bottom row of tiles and the Jacuzzi rim. Let the grout and caulk cure for three days before using the Jacuzzi.
