How do I Groom Cowbells?

    • 1). Spray the entire metal cow bell with WD-40 or gun oil. Allow the oil to set for 10 minutes and wipe off with a soft cloth. This will keep the working parts in order and keep them from making the wrong type of noise.

    • 2). Apply a tarnish remover made for brass or copper with a soft cloth. You can find a tarnish remover made especially for the metal the cow bell is made of. Remove the tarnish remover with a damp clean soft cloth. Follow the tarnish remover bottle instructions for use. Avoid the use of silver polish for brass or copper metals.

    • 3). Apply car polish to the cow bell with the polish applicator. Allow the polish to dry and buff it with a clean cloth to remove the excess polish. This will make the cowbell shiny but will also protect it from water spots and from outdoor elements.

    • 4). Place the bell outside in a well-ventilated area and spray on a clear coat of polyurethane sealer to keep the cowbell from oxidizing any further, especially if it will be placed outdoors for a long period of time. Allow to dry overnight and use the cowbell in any craft project you want.
