  Baskets have a way of accumulating over the years. You may have received many gift baskets of different sizes during the holidays or birthdays. It seems wasteful to throw these baskets away, but sometimes they end up taking space without being used. You can dust those baskets off and use them for very inexpensive and attractive storage. There are uses for all baskets, big and small, around the house.
  
  

Small Baskets

  Small baskets are great for organizing smaller items that might otherwise get lost. You can keep hair accessories, jewelry, buttons, pins, nails, screws, mini screwdrivers, mirrors, small desk supplies, stickers, small scrap-booking items and other small items in a small basket. A small basket can be kept on a coffee table as a station for all of your remote controls. Small baskets can be kept out on display, or somewhere you frequent so you can throw your item conveniently in the basket it belongs in. You can also arrange some baskets inside of drawers and closets, so that they are hidden and out of the way, but still where you need them to be to organize.
  
  

Medium Baskets

  Medium baskets are extremely versatile for everyday items. Use medium-sized baskets to hold books by the side of the bed. You can use a tall basket as an umbrella stand or gift-wrap center. Your most-watched movies can go into a nice medium-sized basket instead of among the rest of your library. Arts and crafts supplies can be kept in order in a medium basket. Magazines look much more organized in a basket than stacked randomly on tables.
  
  

Large Baskets

  Large baskets come in handy for storing collections of larger items. A large basket can be used to hold logs for a fireplace. You can also use a large basket as a temporary recycling holder. A basket can hold tomorrow's outfit, shoes and all, for school-aged children. Stuffed animals go nicely in a basket, and children have a fun time tossing them in when they are done playing.
