Where Does the Money Come From?
Most Bands have yet to come to the realization that the bulk of their money comes from Live performances.
Yet that is the place that they ignore the most.
Why spend all your time on the thing that brings in the least about of money - Recording! That right..
..
Recording.
Live performances bring you ALL the money.
So making sure you have the most engaging show you can possibly get.
Notice I did not say "Best".
I have seen Bands about there that are average and engage me while I am watching and walk away amazed.
Then there are other Bands out there that are incredible on the technical side but where the most BORING show I have ever seen.
I have seen Bands that have record deals and can't figure out why they are not generating any interest.
Why? Because you are BORING! If you go to my web site and then find the banner for Tom Jackson, that will be the first step to correcting the problem.
As a Musician and a Band member it is your duty and obligation to provide ENTERTAINMENT! So if you are BORING you are not doing your job.
If people are walking away from your show saying "Man, that sucked!" You as a musician have FAILED! That's right FAILED.
When I perform and my audience walks away saying that my show sucked, then I have failed and FAILED BIG because I should know better! It might look like a huge hill to climb but it isn't.
And you have to realize that reward you will get from putting in the time and effort to achieve this.
People will be talking about you ever where.
If you are chasing the dream of being a major recording artist you have to ask yourself this question: Where do Record Executive go to check out a band? What is the one major thing that determines if you are going to be on their "ROSTER"? There is only one thing that will make or Break you..
...
Your LIVE Show! That is it! And if you are BORING or you SUCK! Then kiss that record deal GOOD-BYE! Why would you scramble to "Try and get a show together" when a record executive is coming to see you? Opportunity goes to those who are prepared.
It is that simple.
When someone tells me that an "Executive" is coming to see me perform.
My response is always "Yeah, So" I am ready! And I have been and will be! Don't miss out on opportunity that you are not even aware of because you were BORING or SUCKED!
Yet that is the place that they ignore the most.
