Tax Relief - Insane Tax Write Offs
There have been stories collected from all over the US, about people like you and me, who have tried to claim just about anything as being deductible or a tax write-off in order to obtain some tax relief.
Now the US Government has pretty much got all of its bases covered concerning valid tax write offs and you have to admire these people for trying, it really is very amusing.
Individual US tax payers have tried everything to justify Tax relief for themselves.
They get really ingenious and have tried to claim for such unbelievable deductions as sperm donation, ostrich breeding and dog food.
Dogs always come up tops with individuals seeking tax write-offs, they have claimed for dogs being dependents, and while I know that dogs do become a part of the family, to actually try to treat them like real dependents on tax filing forms is just another insane characteristic of, I suppose, dog lovers! Individuals have even gone so far as to try to claim for doggy day care and have called them subcontractors.
This just doesn't fly with the IRS and could in actual fact encourage Uncle Sam to delve into your tax history even deeper than before.
It appears that attempting to make up your own tax laws, just might have some serious consequences, and although you want your doggy to be treated as a member of the family, it might just not be worth it if the IRS starts looking at your filing as though you might have been under-reporting income for filing a false claim.
One insane claim for this year includes hidden assets (huh?).
No you heard right, a gentleman and his wife go to visit his tax manager and the manager asks the man "what about the mortgage interest deduction for the Utah condo?" Oops his wife knew nothing about the condo where he had set up his mistress! The divorce is probably going to cost him a whole lot more than his tax bill.
