Exterior

• 1). Center the barn star above the garage door or entrance door to a shed. Large stars create a dramatic effect above doors. Unpainted tin eventually will rust from the weather conditions. Personal preference will dictate whether to select a painted star or a star that will age with time.
  
  
• 2). Adjust the star with one tip pointing straight up. Stars have five points and are more pleasing visually with one point straight up.
  
  
• 3). Secure the star with screws or nails provided with the star. Fasten the star tips tightly to the exterior to prevent wind from loosening the star.
  
  

Interior

• 1). Choose a color to complement the room décor or a color according to its generally accepted meaning. Meanings of colors are listed under “Tips.”
  
  
• 2). Hang the barn star above the fireplace or on a large, open wall. Use the preattached bar on the back of the star and a wall hook to mount the star to the wall. Stars are light and will require only hooks used to hang a picture frame.
  
  
• 3). Cluster smaller stars around the large star for a colorful or dramatic look.
