They are small schooling fish that get along with one another.

They don't cost a lot and if you have a good filter and a heater, you can keep these fish for a long time.
What can we learn about the cichlid category? The draw to cichlids is similar to saltwater fish.
They are unique and they are beautiful to have and to watch.
But they are also a mean bunch of fish, especially if they are spawning.
Despite all of this, they are still very popular and loved by those who have them.
Normally large adult cichlids will take over a section of the aquarium.
Smaller cichlids will stay away from the larger dominant ones.
If you are not careful, though, the big ones may pick on the little ones, so much so, that they can cause death.
