How to Troubleshoot a New Jawbone
- 1). Ensure that the battery in the Jawbone is fully charged. To charge the Jawbone battery, insert the wide end of the headset into the USB charging cord with the word "Top" on the headset facing up. Connect the other end of the wire to the AC adapter and then plug it into an electrical outlet or connect the wire to a USB port on your computer. A red indicator light will come on while the headset is charging, and turn white when the charge is complete.
- 2). Check that you have the Bluetooth feature enabled on your mobile phone. Refer to your phone's instruction manual for information on turning on the Bluetooth feature.
- 3). Pair the Jawbone with your phone as you may not have correctly paired the devices or mistakenly deleted the pairing. To pair the headset with the phone, press and hold the "Noise Shield" button until the indicator light flashes red and white. Search for Bluetooth devices with your phone and select "Jawbone" when it appears on the list. Enter the passkey "0000" with the keypad on the phone and select "Yes." The Jawbone will beep and the white indicator light will flash eight times when the pairing is complete.
- 1). Make sure your phone is on the same side of your body as the Jawbone if you hear noises or distortion while using the headset. This will ensure their is nothing to block the connection between the devices.
- 2). Move the phone to within three feet of the Jawbone. The connection may not work if phone is more than three feet from the Jawbone.
- 3). Press and hold the "Noise Shield" button until the indicator blinks red to turn on the feature. When enabled, the "Noise Shield" feature highlights higher audible sounds, making it easier to hear. In some instances, it is easier to hear without "Noise Shield." Turn it off by pressing and holding the "Noise Shield" button until the white indicator light starts blinking.
- 1). Twist the metal end of the ear piece around so it faces the back of the headset. Notice there are five holes on the back of the headset.
- 2). Insert the metal piece into the center hole on the back of the headset. The "Reset" button is located inside this hole.
- 3). Remove the metal piece from the hole when the indicator light on the headset shuts off. The Jawbone is now reset to the factory default settings.
