This article will give you a good idea of what type of engine is right for you.
Both gas and diesel cars are great for different things so take these factors into account before you make your decision.
Pro: Diesel engines are great for mileage.
You can get a lot more miles for the gallon.
Con: With the age of fuel efficient cars, gas powered cars have improved and are usually even better than diesel.
Diesel is harder to come by at some gas stations as well.
Pro: There is more energy used in Diesel than in gasoline.
Con: Vehicles powered by gas are fast, and quick.
Diesel powered engines are more slow and strong, that is why they are used by semi trucks.
Pro: There are no spark plugs or distributors in Diesel cars so you never need a tune up.
Con: Diesel engines still need to be looked after.
You must change oil, air and fuel filters when needed.
Pro: Diesel engines have been proven to last significantly longer than gas powered.
There have been records for the longest running engines all set by diesel powered cars.
Your car will most likely last a very long time.
Con: Some people do not want to hold onto the same car for too long.
I guess if you get tired of the same vehicle after a few years than this wouldn't be the type of car for you.
Pro: In the winter diesel cars now start a lot easier than they used to.
