Raising Homing Pigeons - Three Tips For Breeding Pigeons

Have you been racing pigeons for a while without winning consistently? It's disappointing to enter race after race without a victory.
It's fun to raise pigeons, but it's more fun to raise winning pigeons.
Here are three secrets winning lofts use to raise pigeons that win races.
1)Good health is imperative.
When buying pigeons, buy only very healthy birds.
Don't even look at anything else.
Then be sure to provide a clean, secure loft.
It should be clean and dry with good ventilation and plenty of sunlight.
It should also be vermin proof to keep out rats and mice.
Three quarters of winning is good health.
2)Cull heavily.
When culling your loft, remember, racing pigeons can be broken down into two groups: Good birds and bad birds.
Color, looks and price have nothing to do with it.
Good pigeons are the ones that win races and they aren't always the best looking.
If a breeding pigeon isn't producing winners, cull it.
Forget how much you paid for it or how "special" it is.
A few good pigeons is better than a loft full of bad ones.
3)Let races determine which birds to keep and which to cull.
It is a pretty amazing pigeon fancier who can tell a winner by looking at its form or into its eyes.
"The eye of the tiger" doesn't exist in pigeons.
Give young birds time to develop, but don't keep losers in your loft.
Winners breed winners.
If you want to raise homing pigeons that win races, keep breeding pigeons that win races.
If you're serious about breeding pigeons, get advice from winners.
Sure, it's fun to talk to your mates at the pub after a race, but get learn from experts.
