Noise Reducer NR100 Information

    General Description

    • The Behringer NR100 is designed to work as two pedals integrated into one device, with two modes: Reduction and Mute mode. Reduction mode is for adjusting the "Thresh," or "Threshold," dial, which reduces the signal when the input signal falls below the set threshold value; and the "Delay" dial, which regulates the signal reduction when the input signal exceeds the threshold value. This interaction eliminates the humming sound. Mute mode serves as an ultra-quiet on/off switch for the instrument plugged into the pedal.

    Interfaces

    • In addition to the "Reduction/Mute" button and "Thresh" and "Delay" dials, the Noise Reducer NR100 has a "Mute/Batt" LED indicator for Mute mode and battery level and "Reduction" LED for Reduction mode. The foot switch at the bottom of the pedal is for activating or deactivating the effect. Four 1/4-inch connectors -- labeled "In," "Out," "Send" and "Return" -- are for plugging in the instrument, output signal to an amplifier, input of an external effect device and feeding in the external effect signal, respectively.

    Dimensions, Weight, Power

    • Each Behringer NR100 has a height of 2.125 inches, a width of 2.75 inches and depth of 4.8 inches. The weight is 0.73 lbs. Power comes from a 9-volt battery, and you can buy a 9-V 100-milliampere-hour DC power adapter. You can unplug the adapter when the NR100 is not in use to make the battery last longer.

    Availability and Pricing

    • As of August 2011, Behringer has stopped manufacturing the NR100. Guitar Center, one of the world's largest musical instrument retailers, currently has the NR100 as a clearance item for $30. Other retail outlets that are selling whatever they have in stock include Atomic Music, Studica, AValive and Audio Allies, with an approximate price range of $24 to $30.
