Winter sports lovers in Massachusetts and surrounding northeastern states can find a variety of snow activity options in the state. Massachusetts has 13 ski resorts of varying sizes scattered throughout the state, and the skiing and snowboarding options are plentiful. Ski lodges in Massachusetts do not typically offer overnight accommodations, but a few resorts do have sleeping options on site. Even when these resorts do not provide beds in their lodges, they do offer food and lounges at the base of the hill to enhance the skiing experience. - Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort is located in Hancock, Massachusetts. The resort has 45 trails that are even lit up at night to allow skiers to hit the slopes until 10 p.m. The Village Center at Jiminy Peak treats guests to shops and children's activities along with a cafe and gathering places to meet and greet family and friends. Four restaurants provide food options on site, and the lodging choices include the Bentley Brook Resort and Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort, both of which sit at the base of the Jiminy Peak ski lifts. Both lodges offer indoor pools and hot tubs along with exercise rooms, game rooms and Internet access for the time spent off of the slopes.

Catamount does not offer offer overnight accommodations right on site, but it has two lodges, the Berkshire Lodge on the Massachusetts side and the Taconic Lodge on the New York side. Both offer a number of eating establishments, ski and snowboard rental and service centers and a place to entertain the kids. Lodging options near Catamount include hotels and condominiums, and for the serious winter recreation lovers, Taconic State Park and Camp Hi-Rock offer cabins. Those at Camp Hi-Rock are near to cross country skiing and ice skating venues.

Its base lodge includes a snack bar along with a ski and snowboard shop to serve its visitors. The Grouse House is near the lodge, providing lodging for Otis Ridge skiers. The Grouse House is a place for visitors to spend the night that includes a lounge and dining room. Guests sleep in private rooms but share restroom facilities. The Otis Ridge kids' camps are popular events. Young skiers stay in dormitories on site and enjoy night skiing and nighttime activities like ping pong when they are not learning how to ski.
