Northwest Airlines and Delta Airlines merged in January 2010. Today all Northwest reservations are now officially Delta reservations. All Northwest and Delta flight schedules and policies are now integrated so that travelers have a consistent experience. Delta rules governing carry-on baggage for Delta customers now also apply to travelers who made reservations when Northwest Airlines was a separate carrier. - One carry-on bag is permitted.suitcases image by Alexander Ivanov from Fotolia.com
One carry-on bag is permitted on the flight. The total linear inches may not exceed 45 inches, which is width plus length plus height. The bag must fit into the overhead bins; there is a Baggage Check Unit at each desk and gate that allows you to check the size of a bag. - One personal item, such as a briefcase, is permitted.briefcase image by morsted from Fotolia.com
A traveler may bring one personal carry-on item onto a flight. Approved items that qualify as a carry-on bag include a purse, briefcase or camera bag, one laptop computer in a carrier or one item of similar size. - Certain items that don't count as carry-ons are permitted. These include an umbrella or jacket, duty-free items or food purchased after you passed through the security checkpoint. Other special items such as crutches, strollers and wheelchairs are also permitted, and do not count as carry-on items.
