Troubleshooting Ez Go Textron Golf Carts
- 1). Check the battery terminal connections. Check for erosion buildup and that all terminals have a secure connection. Purchase a battery terminal cleaner spray from an automotive retail store to use on the terminals.
- 2). Test the voltage of each battery. Disconnect the batteries from the golf cart. Attach the wire leads of the voltage tester to each battery. If a battery reads less than 12 volts, replace it.
- 3). Reset the motor. Remove the panel in the rear of the golf cart to expose the motor. A small red button will be near the area where the wires enter the motor. Push the button to reset the motor.
- 4). Inspect the key hole and key switch. Check that the key switch is not in the "neutral" position but rather in the "on" or "off" position. Check the key hole with a flashlight to free it of any obstructions, such as a leaf or dirt.
- 1). Check the level of fuel in the cart. Read the gas meter; if the needle is below "E" then you need to add fuel to the cart.
- 2). Spray and clean the carburetor. Remove the retaining screw from the air filter using a screwdriver. This will allow access to the carburetor. After it is cleaned, replace the retaining screw.
- 3). Examine the battery. Check the terminal for erosion and dirt build up. This can effect the connection to the battery terminal and disallow the engine to start. If the terminal is dirty, clean it with the terminal cleaner spray.
