Hip Hop Rappers And D-Jays Get Involved

Do you know any rappers? How about any Dee Jays? It ain't easy getting started putting your music out there for others to hear. But you got to start somewhere.

Our Boy, the administrator of [http://www.beatsnation.com], was a crazy hip hop fan. He used to write his own rhymes and even got his brother to sing choruses for him. Problem was that where he was from nobody was interested in Hip Hop that much.

Most of the other kids in school liked to listen to the stars Like NWA and the Beastie Boys but nobody wanted to stick there neck out and try rhyming. Where he was from nobody even understood what a DJ did. Terminator X's job was just too strange.

One day he was quoting some Ice Cube lyrics when his friend made fun of him for not understanding what Ice Cube was saying. This friend was an avid collector of all Gangsta Rap and didn't even really take part. He just liked to listen and acted all cool and superior for having so much more music. Music our boy couldn't really afford.

He ended up not talking too much about his interest in hip hop. Keeping it a secret so that he wouldn't be made fun of again.

Hip Hop is in the blood. No matter where you are from or how you live. Once you got the itch you have to scratch it. Literally. You learn the moves and take them to the club. You start to write your own lyrics and you got something to say. But all the haters out number you and its intimidating being the only one on the block who's got something to say.

Some of you start tagging. Dropping bombs on the streets and feeling the thrill of displaying your message to the world.

But where do you go if you want to show your scratch technique. Get some advice and learn some new tricks. Or if you want to be rappin' who is going to listen.

Ideally you wanna hit the club on open mic, or join some DJ competitions. But if you are from a small town or don't have access to a large group of hip hop practitionerslike our boy here it is not going to be easy to get feedback.

Once again the internet helps to solve this problem. You can download tons of movies showing Dance moves, Scratch Pickle Vids. Or order the videos you need so you can learn what it takes to be a contender.

Now you have all the tools to learn. But who can you share with.

I recommend you check out our boys site http://www.beatsnation.com. It's just a small community right now but the administrator wants to build the largest online community of hip hop, hobbyist, practitioners and leaders so that everyone who enjoys it can take part. So that people in small neighborhoods can hook up with others and share beats, poems, dance moves, and techniques with others.

It's going to be an open and friendly community. So if you are a Hip Hop Fan, hobbyist, contender, Dee Jay, B-Boy, B- Girl, MC or whatever. I recommend you join this community. Help out and make some friends.
