Two "Dragon Ball Z" games have been released for the Nintendo Wii: "Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2" and "Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3." The games in the Budokai Tenkaichi series are fighting games that pit characters against each other in one-on-one battle. Each of the installments for the Wii features more than 100 characters. Many of the cheats available for these games consist of unlockable characters and game modes that can be accessed when the player fulfills a certain game requirement. - In the both sequel installments of the Budokai Tenkaichi, players procede along sagas, or storylines, throughout which they fight a sequence of opponents. New sagas can be unlocked by fulfilling certain requirements. To unlock "Beautiful Treachery," for example, a player must defeat Dodoria with Gohan and Krillin in Mission 01 of the Frieza Saga "A Pursuer Who Calls Death." A player can unlock the "Destined Rivals" saga by defeating Gohan with Goten in Mission 01 of the Majin Buu Saga "Training With Goten." If the player defeats Raditz with Piccolo in Mission 00 of the Saiyan Saga "Mysterious Alien Warrior," the "Fateful Brothers" saga becomes available.
- The following codes will unlock new abilities for the Dragon Ball Z avatar. They require kinetic movements of the Wii remote and nunchuck. To begin, at the stage selection screen, the player should hold the "Z" and "+" buttons until a chime sounds. To unlock "tail power," the player swings the Wii remote down, then up, then left and then right. Unlocking "double fist power" requires moving the nunchuck right, the remote left, the remote left again, the nunchuck right and then both controllers down at once.
- There are a few dozen unlockable characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Most of them can be accessed either by fulfilling a certain saga or by completing a particular level. To access Akkuman, Android 08 and Nail, for example, the player must complete the "What If Saga: Unexpected Messiah," the "What if Saga: Affectionate Android" and the "Frieza Saga: Super Saiyan," respectively. Characters made available by victory in certain levels include Cyborg Tao Pai Pai, who appears when the player completes Level 2 in "Otherworld Tournament," King Cold, who appears upon completion of Level 3 in "Cell Game," and Pilaf Machine, who is unlocked with a victory in Level 2 of the "Super World Tournament."
- In the Budokai Tenkaichi 3 installment, a successful player can unlock new battlegrounds to select from the stage selection screen. One way to do so is to complete sagas. To unlock the "Muscle Tower," for example, the player completes Dragon History Dragon Ball Saga "Decisive Battle in Holy Place." Upon completion of Dragon History Special Saga "Janemba," the "Janemba Hell" stage becomes available. Other stages can be unlocked simply by wishing them from the magical dragon Shenron, either in his normal form or his red variation. A player can unlock "Penguin Village" or "King Castle" by wishing them from Red Shenron, while "Mt. Paozu" can be granted by normal Shenron.
