Can one really earn extra money online?
Earning extra money online can be a great way to supplement your income. By the nature of the internet, once something is online it stays there, and the internet does not go to bed. Meaning that once you have found a way to make money online and implement it online, it often will work for you long term and very little extra work is required to maintain it. Often you will be literally making money overnight while you are sleeping.
It is this, that makes the idea of earning money online that makes it so appealing, surely you have seen the ads claiming to make you money "on autopilot" "overnight while you are sleeping" and "like your own personal money machine".
So can there be any truth to these claims or is it just too good to be true? In my own personal experiences, I have found that indeed there is a great deal of money to be made online, but are you going to get "$625,000 into your bank account overnight" and "every month"? Very unlikely, more likely you will spend a long period of time trying to perfect your website, researching and learning, before you make anything even close to be worth your time and effort. And from there it will be a slow and steady climb to the top of the hill where your online income is not dependent on spending your evening online, struggling to understand why Google is not ranking your page higher.
There appears to be a statistic floating around on the internet claiming 90-98% people who try, fail at making money online. I do not know how accurate that statistic is or where it has come from, but I certainly agree that 'most' people fail to make money online. I believe this is because of difficulty in understanding the environment you are working in and giving up too soon after you put work in and see no profits.
The real secret to earning money online is no real secret at all. In fact, it is the same secret to earning money in any method. Work hard, know your goal and persevere and you will have made will be on the right track to becoming successful online. Be prepared to go through some hard work before seeing any results. Think of it like starting a small business. With the exception of a few lucky breaks, most businesses will fail to make any profit in the first year of operation. It would seem that the same is true in the online world.
