Travelers looking to escape the highway gridlock that usually comes with driving from Boston to Cape Cod should leave the car at home and hop aboard one of the Bay State Cruise's ships. Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and sail away to the beaches, restaurants and boutiques of Provincetown. - Beat the traffic to Cape Cod and take the Bay State Cruise Company's ferry to Provincetown, the northernmost town on the Cape. You can choose from two routes to Provincetown, either the Provincetown III, a 90-minute direct trip, or the Provincetown II, a three-hour tour of the area. The Provincetown III conducts three round trips daily while the Provincetown II conducts one round trip every Saturday from late May to mid-October.
Enjoy the ride in the cabin or on the deck and fuel up on snacks and drinks at the full-service bar. The Bay State Cruise Company is docked at the World Trade Center. Cars are not permitted on the ferry, but there is parking within walking distance of the dock. Pedestrians should take the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's (MBTA) Silver Line to the World Trade Center stop.
Reservations can be made online or by calling 617-748-1428. - Bay State Cruises also offers a series of Summer Music Cruises. The cruises are for ages 21 and up and occur on Friday and Saturday nights and the occasional Sunday afternoon. All the cruises depart from the World Trade Center dock and last from 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Guests can party with local radio stations such as Kiss 108 or see acts such as the Aerosmith tribute band Draw the Line.

A three-hour student dance party package with a disc jockey and buffet is also available. You can also charter the Provincetown II, which can accommodate 100 to 1,100 people. Throw a dinner party for 160 guests and enjoy libations from the ship's three bars.
