Medical Training Colleges
- The University of Pennsylvania's School of Medicine was placed second in a 2010 U.S. News & World Report rankings list of the top medical schools in America. It has 725 medical students enrolled, as well as 570 doctoral students and 134 masters students. Claiming the top spot in the same rankings list, Harvard Medical School's departments include Cell Biology, Pathology and Neurobiology.
- Named number one medical school in the United Kingdom by the "The Sunday Times 2010 University Rankings Guide," Oxford University offers both four year and six year courses in its medical school. These result in a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree for students. Situated in Scotland, The University of Edinburgh College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine offers degree programs in medicine, veterinary medicine, medical sciences and oral health sciences. The medical school was founded in 1726.
- University of Gothenburg's Institute of Medicine has undergraduate, postgraduate and advanced level courses available. The research division of the Swedish medical school is dedicated to discovery in fields such as diabetes and cardiovascular. Students studying at the Moscow Medical Academy can study towards a Master of Pharmacy, Doctor of Stomatology or a Doctor of Medicine program degree. This school has a student body of 9,000.
- No Australian medical school has educated more health professionals than Melbourne Medical School from the University of Melbourne. Founded in 1862, it boasts a Nobel Laureate winner in one of its academics, Professor Peter Doherty. The Far Eastern University NRMF Institute of Medicine in the Philippines has been credited as a center of excellence by the Board of Medical Education.
