How to Create a Picture Wall Display for a Graduation Party
- 1). Collect copies of photos from your grad's friends depicting their fun times together during school. Gather your own photos of your grad, including any pictures from school events she participated in, such as school plays, dances, sports games and concerts. If any of your grad's friends want their pictures returned after the party, note their names on the backs of the photos.
- 2). Place the photos in matching frames for a more traditional look. For a more lighthearted photo wall, you can arrange the photos collage-style. Wall collages have more of a freestyle look, so you can use mismatched picture frames or no frames at all, depending on your preference.
- 3). Blow up your son or daughter's graduation portrait to a large size, if you desire, as the centerpiece of your picture wall. You can place the portrait in a large matte frame and let party guests sign messages to your graduate on the frame. Place a small table holding a container of markers or gel pens beneath the portrait if you wish to create an autograph frame for your grad.
- 4). Set out all the photos on your floor and play with the arrangement before you hang them. Move the pictures around until you have a design that appeals to you. Take a digital photo of the floor arrangement so you can refer back to it while hanging the pictures.
- 5). Hang the photos on the designated wall using your digital photo as a guide. If you're opting for a more traditional look, use tacks or picture hangers to hang the framed photos. If another person is available to help, have him spot you, as having a second pair of eyes can help in hanging the pictures straight and quickly. If you're going for a collage look, hang any framed photos using tacks or picture hangers and hang the unframed photos with removable poster putty.
